Sempai Jason Homa - Nidan (2nd Dan Black Belt)

Jason begun training in Kyokushin in Bendigo from 1982-1987 under then Sempai Lance McInnes (Now Shihan) and graded to 5th Kyu during this time, competing in multiple full contact tournaments with a highlight being the the 1st ever Kyokushin Tournament held in Bendigo in 1984. Resuming his Kyokushin journey in In 2010, Jason joined the Pooraka Dojo in Adelaide training under Sempai Andy Oxenham which later relocated to Salisbury in 2012, where he one again started as a white belt and then continued to train and grade with Sempai Andy until the end of 2013, achieving 5th Kyu during this time.

In 2014 Jason joined Sensei Alexander Kondakov at Windsor Gardens Dojo and continued to grow and further develop in this time. Whilst training with Sensei Alexander, Jason competed in regional Full Contact Tournaments as well as National Kata tournaments. In November 2019 Jason obtained his Shodan (1st Dan) under the then Shihancho Gary Viccars in Geelong, Victoria. In February 2020 Jason started Mawson Lakes Kyokushin Karate along with Sempai Mariusz Kaminski. In November 2024 Jason obtained his Nidan (2nd Dan) under Hanshi Gary Viccars in Geelong, Victoria.

Jason has been fortunate enough to travel and train in other Dojo’s around Australia, including Narre Warren Vic, Newtown Vic, Bellarine Vic, Corio Vic, Portland Vic, Warrnambool Vic, Bendigo Vic, Maroubra NSW, Mt Druitt NSW, Griffith NSW, Mackay QLD & Ormeau QLD. Jason regularly attends training camps each year in Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales under Hanshi John Taylor (9th Dan) now deceased, Hanshi Gary Viccars (8th Dan), Shihan Tony Bowden (6th Dan), Kaicho Robbie Adams (6th Dan), Shihan Scott McQuaid (5th Dan), Shihan Jim Slavos (5th Dan), Shihan Mark Tyson (5th Dan), Shihan Ron Jorgensen (5th Dan), Shihan David Nabulsi (5th Dan) & Shihan Frank Cirillo (5th Dan).

Sempai Hossein Sanaei – Shodan (1st Dan Black Belt)

Hossein began training in Kyokushin in 2005 at the Persian Dojo under the guidance of Shihan Ahmadi Parizi (5th Dan) and Sensei Mehran Ganjali (3rd Dan) in Esfahan, Iran. Hossein competed in Kata and Full-contact tournaments whilst training he achieved first place in the Kata Tournament in 2008 in Esfahan.

After seven years of training, Hossein obtained his Shodan in March 2012 at just 17 years old. However, as university life began, his training became more casual, and he stepped away from consistent practice.

In 2023, Hossein migrated to Adelaide, Australia to continue his studies as a PhD candidate at the University of South Australia (UniSA) and joined Mawson Lakes Kyokushin Karate at the same time. He then represented Mawson Lakes Kyokushin Karate in 2024 competing in the Victorian Championships in Geelong.
